The company's breakthrough came when Cantu, while working on Bentone Grease Structure technology that wouldn't melt under extreme temperatures, purchased a World War II dough-making machine at a ship auction, convinced he could use it to manufacture pipe dope.

This unconventional beginning led to their first major success: the Wooley Booger TFE thread compound, which revolutionized the industry despite initial skepticism from drilling engineers.
