Ladder Safety Systems
Designed for installation on fixed, permanent ladders of virtually any height, Gemtor ladder climber’s safety systems feature a safety sleeve that automatically follows the ascending and descending movements of a worker along a fixed ladder. If a slip or fall occurs, a locking mechanism engages, limiting the fall to a few inches and reducing the possibility of serious injury. Common features of Gemtor ladder climber safety systems include:

• Full-body harness with front D-ring
• 100' of stainless steel cable (other lengths available, 30' minimum)
• Most installations can be completed by maintenance personnel in less than one hour

The safety sleeve in this system is permanently attached to the cable so that it reliably remains with the system at all times. The 5000 Series is good for use in situations where many different workers at different times may need to have access to the same safety system.  Additional sleeves can be added to the cable to accommodate more than one worker at the same time.

The 6000 Series features a removable safety sleeve, so that a worker can take the sleeve with him from site to site. The 6000 Series is an economical solution for situations with many ladders in use. A worker needs only one sleeve and can hook up to any Gemtor 6000 Series system.

Small Rope Grab
Small, lightweight rope-grabbing devices ride a vertical lifeline and automatically lock in place if a fall occurs. Energy absorbing rope grab for 5/8" diameter, vertical synthetic lifelines. This Rope Grab is very similar to our popular Model #VF505 in design and performance. It is made of stainless steel for superior corrosion resistance, reduces the forces generated during a fall to a level well below OSHA and ANSI limits. Unlike many other rope grabs, all Gemtor rope grabs are designed not to abrade the rope during normal use. The Model #VF400 rope grab is threaded onto the lifeline at the free end and stays with the lifeline so that it is always there.

Large Rope Grab
Automatic rope grab follows a worker up and down a 5/8" - 3/4” diameter vertical synthetic rope lifeline. The unit’s controlled, shock-absorbing action eliminates the need for an energy absorber lanyard. The patented design allows the rope grab to be attached, detached, and positioned at any point on the vertical lifeline. Weighs 1 1/2 lbs. and is made of stainless steel. NY State Approval #9502. (Approval limited to rope grab only.)

Cable Grabs
This compact and lightweight cable grab is made of stainless steel and is designed to follow the ascending and descending movement of a worker along a vertical wire rope lifeline. The grab can be used on 5/16” – 3/8”, 7 x 19 stainless steel wire rope lifelines and a unique patented design allows for it to be attached, detached or positioned at any point along the lifeline. An energy absorbing lanyard must be used for attachment of the cable grab to the back D- ring of a full-body harness.

Snaphooks and Carabiners
All Gemtor lanyards, lifelines, and energy absorbers come standard with Model #3155 locking snaphooks. To order different connectors, use the following procedure: First, replace the “L” in the base Model # with the ordering code of the connector to be on the end of the lanyard attached to the user. Next, add the ordering code of the connector to be on the other end of the lanyard. If both ends are to have the same connector, or the lanyard only has one connector, then only add one letter code.

Note: Not all connectors are compatible with all connections; it is the responsibility of the purchaser/user to ensure that all hardware connections are compatible. Only Model # 3155, 3154, 5105 and 5107 connectors should be used for connection to Gemtor D-ring attachments. All snaphook attachments must be checked by the user to make sure they cannot bring pressure on snap gates in a manner as to permit accidental opening.
