NOTE

Quadrant Valve is the ONLY MANUFACTURER IN THE WORLD to currently produce threaded ball valves that meet both ASME B16.34 and API 608.

It is incredibly likely that your process piping, power piping, and pressure vessels require compliance with both standards, and if you are using anyone else's threaded valves, you are not in compliance with these standards.

But there is one piece of good news. You are not required to completely re-valve your entire piping system in order to comply: you merely have to replace every valve installed since 1988, when the standards were changed.

Why haven't you heard about this from your current ball valve vendor?

Let's pretend you make ball valves. You've known about this standard for 18 years, because it's your job to know about it. Despite that, you've opted not to jump through the hoops necessary to certify your plants, because certification costs money, and because then you'd actually have to test EVERY valve you sell.

Until now, your customers have been happy. They've been keeping you and your family well fed, and you live pretty good on the sales you've managed to maintain. In short, you're living on the brand name, and letting it carry you along.

Why on Earth would you then go out and explain to your customers that you have been ignoring this standard, and that your current valve lines are not certified to produce compliant valves, and that they must now go out and find another valve company to buy from until you can get your plants and your valves certified?

Short answer? You wouldn't. If your customers are happy with the product they are getting, and not DEMANDING certification, then you're not going to rush out and spend the money and time setting it up.

What if you did rush out and start certifying your valves? Would some of your customers be justified in asking you why you felt the need to change? How could you answer that question, knowing that this standard has been in place for almost two decades, and you're just now getting around to it?

You couldn't.

Quadrant Valve was started from day one with two guiding principles: making the safest possible valve (seal-welding the tailpieces), and making it completely standards-compliant. Most Quadrant valves will meet B16.34 and API 608, and they are the only valves in the world to do so.

If you're looking for valves whose design has been all about standards compliance and safety, you need look no farther. You've found your souce.
